Tarasque. Are you trying to say Socom Confrontation was unplayable at launch? Maybe your confused with the beta because the retail version was just as playable as CoD4 at launch. I won't argue with your own personal experience though, I'll just leave at that.
I'm dead serious. Do you want me to personally take screens directly from MY PS3 comparing both of these games? I'll prove to you that Socom has better graphics than R2 online. I'm more than willing to do so when I receive my copy of R2 next week. I'm willing to bet the graphics from the beta of R2 is no different than the retail version.
FYI....There's a difference between patches and DLC. Re-reviewing games that have been "patched" to work properly are totally acceptable. Remember, DLC is optional and patches are mandatory especially when comes to online-only games. You guys disagreeing should realize that these are only temporary technical problems. The devs are promptly addressing the issue. It's only fair to re-review the game if the problems have been fixed don't you think?

I've played the R2 MP beta. Didn't like the graphics one bit. The Socom beta looked better imo.
Resistance 2's campaign mode clearly looks better than Gears of War 2.
But...
GeoW2's multiplayer graphics looks better than R2's.
Was there any doubt? Polyphony Digital, Guerrilla Games, Team ICO, Quantic Dream, and Santa Monica studios will blow the haters away in 09. The PS3 future is looking bright.
I may have been playing with a Sony or MM employee because he was cycling through all these unreleased costumes in my pod yesterday. I was trying to ask him how he got them but he didn't answer. We had a blast playing the online levels though. The pumpkin head costume looks sweet I tell you.
Wow the patches are only around 20mb in size. Takes about a minute total.
